State courts have overturned complete abortion bans in states like Alabama and Mississippi, but unfortunately, abortion service access points in many states are few and far between. This week, Planned Parenthood launched a new tool to help women navigate the complexities of abortion access and legality.

Planned Parenthood’s new “Abortion Care Finder”, located on their home page, uses patients’ age, zip code, and date of last period to connect them with health care providers and inform them of additional legal requirements such as paperwork or guardian presence that may affect their access to care.

Loss of funding and partial abortion bans have made it more difficult for Planned Parenthood to connect patients with abortion care, but digital health services like this one are instrumental in helping women access health services. The ease and relative privacy of online services are providing women with information on clinics, medical options, and resources all in one convenient place.
