You can now watch a virtual Coldplay concert put on by lead singer Chris Martin as you practice social distancing. The concert is the first in a “Together, At Home” series put on by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Citizen to share music and build community spirit while concerts and other events are canceled due to coronavirus.

The musician launched his video concert on Instagram Live and the event was viewed by thousands of fans. Martin not only played some of his band’s greatest hits, but he also encouraged viewers to practice proper social distancing measures to slow the spread of the virus.

Martin played for 30 minutes, taking requests from fans. He opened with “A Sky Full of Stars,” followed by “Trouble” and “Viva La Vida.” He even began to teach viewers how to play songs on their own at home. To end the video, Martin invited viewer John Legend to host his own virtual concert, so hopefully, you will see more of these great mini-concerts on your social media feeds soon.

Practicing social distancing is one of the best measures for slowing the spread of the virus, but it can also breed feelings of isolation and loneliness. Fortunately, we have the technology to remain virtually connected to one another and share amazing experiences like communal music over the internet. Follow the link below to see a video of the performance.
