DoorDash originally started as a food delivery app, but spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has expanded its services to include items from convenience stores and CVS.
Starting this week, customers can order over 3,000 different items from CVS to be delivered, contact-free, during a scheduled time slot. This includes anything from food to cleaning products to over the counter medications.
DoorDash is piloting the program in Dallas, Houston, New York City and Philadelphia, but will expand it if it proves successful. It plans to extend the program to the Bronx, Brooklyn, San Francisco, and Boston metro areas as early as this summer.
