Today’s Solutions: March 25, 2026

If you love pensive puffins, stoic owls, and magnificent birds soaring above the Swiss Alps, the 56th annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition from the Natural History Museum of London is a must see.

This year’s collection of finalists is the best of 49,000 entries from 86 countries and captures some of the world’s most awe-inspiring wildlife. Some of our favorites include a stunning image of a grey reef shark swimming at night in French Polynesia and two sneaky possums peeking out of their hiding place in Western Australia.

The competition also calls attention towards some of the biggest threats facing our natural spaces with a gripping photo of a fire in the Brazilian Amazon caused by illegal logging on indigenous land and a nearly completely camouflaged hippo in Kenya’s drought stricken Maasai Mara National Reserve.

The winner of this year’s competition will be announced in a virtual ceremony on October 13. Check out the link below to see all of the gorgeous photographs.
