Nobody likes a stinky bathroom, but it’s especially unpleasant in the winter when it’s too cold to open the windows and air things out. Store bought air freshening sprays can help, but these can be costly and often contain toxic ingredients. Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to make a DIY version of these sprays that won’t break the bank.

A recipe for homemade spray

Ingredients

  • Essential oils
  • Distilled water
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Vegetable glycerin
  • Glass spray bottle
How to make your spray

Mix together equal parts water and alcohol, then add a heart splash of glycerin. Rubbing alcohol helps kill germs while glycerin helps keep odors from sticking to surfaces. A couple drops of essential oils help cover up scents and will make your bathroom smell fresh and clean. Choose whichever scents you want to make the bathroom experience more pleasant for whoever heads in there next.
