A much-debated religious freedom law in Indiana sparked an idea inside Bill Levin’s head. The long-time advocate for the use of medical marijuana thought, if the law protects religious practices, how could it not also permit marijuana use—still illegal in the state—as part of a broader spiritual philosophy? And thus, he created the First Church of Cannabis. “Light up, folks!”
