A group of American Muslims started a crowdfunding campaign to help raise money for eight African-American Christian communities in the United States. In the past weeks, in the wake of what happened in Charleston, the church buildings of these communities burned down. Three are believed to arson; the others are pending investigation. A coalition of American Muslim groups launched a crowdfunding campaign to help rebuild the churches. They are trying to raise $75,000 and are very close to reaching their goal. They write: “It’s Ramadan and we are experiencing firsthand the beauty and sanctity of our mosques during this holy month. We are calling on you to help add our support to faith communities across the country pooling their resources to rebuild these churches.”
