According to this study of the University of Toronto, working out and then sitting at your desk all day is not healthier than sitting at your desk and not working out at all. Only moving around frequently during the day — getting up from your desk a lot to walk around at work and not spending hours watching television in the evening — leads to health benefits. Consistently moving throughout the day even stimulates production of the BRCA protein, a substance that helps to prevent cancer.
