People with schizophrenia often find studying and work difficult. The disease affects the way someone behaves, thinks, and sees the world, but next to this, it also leads to other cognitive impairments. People with schizophrenia are often forgetful and unable to concentrate. A new mobile brain-training game aims to help them with these aspects. The game is developed at the University of Cambridge, and is fun, but also full of training tasks like moving through rooms and identifying items in boxes and character locations. The game was tested, and proved to help patients with memory development and putting things into context. The game is called Wizard, and is now available in the Apple store, as part of the brain-training app Peak.
