Coffee is a favorite beverage around the world. And, apparently we drink not enough of it. At least that’s what US nutrition experts conclude. The panel says that drinking 400 mg of coffee a day, about five cups, is associated with a wide range of health benefits including reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Five cups a day is a lot, on average no nation drinks more than about two. But if you can stomach it, don’t be afraid to drink more coffee. And in case you’re wondering—no, drinking energy drinks does not have the same, or any, health benefits.
