Most people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are told they have less than a year to live, making it one of the deadliest cancers in the world. That’s why cancer charities are finding it “incredibly exciting” that researchers have discovered major insight into the cancer that could lead to a breakthrough in treatment. Researchers have found that pancreatic cancer is actually at least four separate diseases each with a different cause and needing a different treatment. Perhaps this doesn’t sound like much, but the researchers say the knowledge could lead to better treatments and that they have already seen some “exceptional” results. These new findings will allow for doctors to give patients a better chance to live as long as possible for as well as possible.
