The growth of online shopping is exploding. And leader Amazon argues that online shopping increases efficiencies that serve society as well as the planet. But what about all those boxes? Designer Yu-Chang Chou has reinvented shipping packaging. Right now you buy something online, it’s shipped to you, then you throw away what it is shipped in. Chou has come up with a new shipping envelope that can be sent back to the post office and reused after you receive the good you purchased. The shipping envelope is made out of the same material as protective sportswear and can be recycled up to 200 times.
