Although most parents claim that instilling kindness in their kids is their very top priority, almost 80 percent of middle- and high-school students in the U.S. say that their parents taught them that personal happiness and high achievement are more important than caring for other people, according to Harvard researchers. The Making Caring Common project has listed five strategies to help parents align their parenting style with their declared goal of raising kind kids. You guessed it, leading by example made the list.
