A school in Baltimore is taking a different approach to helping kids who act out. Instead of punishing disruptive kids with a trip to the principal’s office, this school is sending kids to something they call the Mindful Moment Room. In this room, misbehaving kids are encouraged to sit in the room and go through practices like breathing or meditation, helping them calm down and re-center. Science is starting to build up a really interesting picture of how beneficial mindfulness can be, and by starting it at an early age, these kids can grow up with a healthier psyche.
