The aviation industry is in search of cleaner ways to fly, and it seems they are finding one in hybrid electric-aircraft startup Zunum Aero. The startup has received an investment from Boeing and JetBlue that will help them build a quiet, environmentally friendly aircraft. Zunum’s proposed regional aircraft will run primarily on battery power and can hold up to 50 passengers with a range of up to 1,000 miles. The hybrid-electric plane isn’t expected to fly until the next decade, but when it does, Zunum’s founder believes it will set off a wave of electrification across the aviation industry.
