Guacamole is one of the best foods anyone invented. Now researchers have found that eating guacamole—more specifically an avocado a day—will help cut down on LDL cholesterol, also known as the bad kind. The study was conducted on overweight adults and divided participants into three groups, all with different dietary regiments. One of the group’s main dietary components was an avocado, and that group had noticeably lower LDL cholesterol counts than the other groups. The Hass Avocado Board funded the study, but say they didn’t impact the research and scientists say they would have published the results even if they found that avocados were bad for you. Thankfully they aren’t.
