There is huge potential for economic development here, and this is why it’s good news that the German government decided to place its bets on digitalization for its development aid policy with Africa. According to the World Bank, already more than 650 million people in Africa currently own a mobile phone – which means Africa is home to more users than Europe or the USA. In the next few years, German development aid will be joining forces with the German and African private sector to facilitate fresh economic prospects for Africa through an e-revolution.
