A new initiative is now inviting them to adopt a Dutch custom and hop on the luggage rack for a ride. To take part, keep your eyes out for so-called Backie drivers, whom you can recognize by their bright yellow luggage rack. Simply shout ‘Backie!’ to hail a ride and jump on the back. You’ll get a free tour of the city and connect with a local. It’s like couch surfing, but on a bicycle.
