Since the Paris attacks this past Friday, governors of more than half of the U.S. states have said they will not welcome Syrian refugees. Some politicians have even said they would be fine with refugees, as long as they are Christian. But just as it is false to say that the terrorists represent Muslims, it would be just as false to say the views of these politicians represent the views of all Christians. While some people are making erroneous, intolerant comments towards Muslim refugees (leading to media attention), many Christian church groups have in fact been outspoken against the governors’ lack of compassion, especially since over 800,000 refugees from all around the world have resettled in the U.S. without incident since 9/11. After all, doesn’t Christianity teach to love thy neighbors? See here what some Christian groups are doing to help settle refugees in the U.S.
