To help people around the world facing displacement, AirBnB is launching a platform that will help people automatically with organizations with available rooms. The platform is called Open Homes, and it’s designed to connect organizations seeking short-term stays for refugees and volunteers offering up their home for a specific cause. Nonprofits looking to set up a family or individual for a few days or weeks while they figure out more permanent housing will be able to view lists of potential homes offered by volunteers. With a large base of 3.5 million homes it can tap into, AirBnB can make big difference for refugees in need.
