Uber has always been ambitious, but the company’s latest plans are taking their aspirations to new heights. The ride-hailing company wants to have a “flying car” service up and running in three years’ time in Los Angeles. Although the electric, autonomous, vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft that Uber wants to use doesn’t exist yet, some 19 different companies are currently working on making one. If Uber’s plans ever become a reality, the company predicts it could shave an hour off the 90-minute journey between LAX and the Staples Center.
