Ikea is known for the Swedish meatballs and cheap hotdogs that tempt you when you walk out of the store. In the not so distant future, however, you may be coming across a different, more sustainable variety of foods including worm balls and algae hot dogs. Ikea’s innovation lab has been working on reinventing five iconic fast food dishes and replacing the main ingredients with unconventional, yet sustainable and healthy ingredients. The Bug Burger, for example, has a patty made out of beetroot, parsnip, potato, mealworm, and the larval form of a darkling beetle.
