Today’s Solutions: April 20, 2026

A new report released by a Washington DC-based research group found that 12 of the 14 U.S. states along the Atlantic coast have offshore wind potential that exceeds its current electricity needs. These states use more than a quarter of the nation’s energy, and nearly all of that energy comes from gasoline, natural gas, and other fossil fuels. Building offshore wind farms along the Atlantic coast would not only be a better option for the environment, but would also be a better financial option as improved technology has dropped the costs of offshore wind by 25 percent in the last five years.
