Tech giant Google has announced that it has developed a prototype of an augmented reality microscope that can help physicians diagnose patients with cancer. The device is simply an ordinary light microscope used by pathologists around the world, except it uses AI technology and augmented reality to detect cancer cells in the tissue. The company believes this microscope could allow groups with limited funds, such as small labs and clinics, or developing countries to benefit from these tools in a simple, easy-to-use manner.
