While it can be nice to get away from people and be alone from time to time, studies show going without human contact for too long can have dangerous implications on your health. Previous research has shown that regardless of your heart health, social isolation can increase risk of death anywhere from 50 to 90 percent. In a new study of socially isolated people living with heart disease, researchers found that people who see virtually no one else on a daily basis are three and a half times more likely to die early than those who reported having enough social support and connections to others.
