Today’s Solutions: April 18, 2024

The electric vehicle industry is rapidly expanding, and sleek new designs are pushing their way into the boating market. The latest example of which comes from the Templar Marine, which has introduced their Torqeedo day boat. The boat is powered by six batteries, lasts for 7 hours, and has the equivalent of 20 horsepower. The design is an ideal green option for water taxis, day boats, and water fleets.

The company says electric boating comes environmental and comfort benefits: “At Templar Marine, we’re looking to fulfill the increasing demand from modern boaters for a plug-in, all-electric boating experience, with no sacrifice in comfort and enjoyment.” Sitting in an open-air environment, the quiet, emissions-free nature of electric power becomes even more desirable. Their electric boats come with less noise, no fumes, and the lightweight 5,000 pounds Templar 26 model can be towed behind the average family SUV.

With quiet and environmentally friendly electric motors available, heavy, smelly gas boat motors are becoming a thing of the past. Boats operate in direct contact with our world’s valuable water resources, so changing to clean, electric power onboard is an efficient and sustainable transition for water transportation. We’re sure the fish will be thankful for the change as well.
