Yesterday was World Toilet Day, an ode to one of the most underrated inventions of all time. No other invention has made one of life’s daily deeds more tolerable nor saved more lives. In the Western world we see the toilet as a standard item, but the reality is that 4.5 billion people in the world still live without functioning sanitation systems each day.
