Traffic in cities across Asia has become dreadful. To solve this congestion of cars, China’s largest online retailer Alibaba is deploying its cloud-computing power to reshape city traffic. The artificial intelligences makes live traffic predictions, optimizes traffic flow, and detects traffic incidents using data from video footage, traffic bureaus, public transportation systems, and mapping apps. The company was able to improve traffic speed by 15 percent when it deployed its traffic-management system in Hangzhou, China. Now the company is set to bring the AI to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
