Scientists suspect that exponential urbanization and industrialization may be pushing bees to travel longer distances to find pollen, killing them through exhaustion. Some scientists believe bees may need a place to fuel up during their long travels, which is why a paper craftswoman and her team has developed something called Bee Saving Paper that contains a type of energy-rich glucose known as “fondant for bees”. The idea is that this kind of paper could be perfect for use in anything from food packaging to parking tickets so that if these things are thrown into a dumpster or wind up on the street, it could help feed a bee on its way to find flowers.
