You see, eggshells are full of calcium, which is an essential plant nutrient, as well as other minerals. By fusing hot water and eggshells, you can make an eggshell tea (yum!) that can serve as an all-natural and inexpensive fertilizer for your houseplants or in the garden. So, you might ask, how exactly do you make eggshell tea fertilizer? It’s simple. In a large pot, boil a gallon of water and add 10 to 20 clean eggshells to it. Once it’s boiling, turn off the heat and allow the brew to sit overnight. The next morning, strain the tea and pour it on the plant’s soil. Your plants will contain more calcium and potassium afterward, which helps them thrive. For the best results, apply the eggshell tea once a week.
