It is no doubt that sports and outdoor activities can have beneficial effects on a community. Rainbow Recreation Center in Oakland, California is taking the benefits to a new level.

Dan Peterson has begun fixing up basketball courts in urban communities to bring people together and make the area beautiful. Not only does he fix them up, but he also paints them with vibrant colors and patterns, inspiring creativity.

The courts draw people into the spaces, teaching the community members teamwork, cooperation, and a whole lot of fun.
