Today’s Solutions: May 03, 2026

Three days ago marked “giving Tuesday,” an event that gained international attention as organizations, individuals, and companies celebrated the spirit of donating in the wake of a hectic Black Friday shopping weekend. Apparel company American Eagle went one step further by embedding the spirit of giving into their product line by actually including QR codes on clothing which leads buyers to a website to donate to charity.

This product line was the brainchild of AExMeCouncil, a team of GenZ employees which the company works with on marketing and social good initiatives. 100% of the profits from the line were also donated to the non-profit Delivering Good, who’s site customers were led to when they scanned the QR codes.

With the help of this council, the company has fostered projects such as this one to give back to communities. For instance, their work has led to the planting of 155,000 trees through the organization One Tree Planted and donations of up to $1.2 million to the LGBTQ+ nonprofit It Gets Better Project.

The company’s creative initiative extends the spirit of giving. If you spot a sweatshirt or t-shirt with a QR code on it, give it a scan for some donation inspiration!
