Taco Bell has always been a fan of plant-based classics. It featured a vegetarian menu long before alternative meats hit the fast-food market. Now, the chain is expanding its meat-free options with its new “Veggie Mode,” a 50-item, all-vegetarian menu.

The menu will be available at all Taco Bell locations on March 12, and their kiosks will allow customers to select “Veggie Mode” to see a vegetarian-only menu. The menu will add new vegetarian options and the “mode” eliminates the hassle of scanning the menu to seek out meat-free options. It makes eating meals sans-meat easier than ever.

Taco Bell’s website does caution that some cross-contamination can occur between shared oils, but the new menu creates new and exciting possibilities for vegetarians who want more diversity in menu options.

In fast food and fine dining restaurants, creating delicious vegetarian options is a great solution for making plant-based diets more feasible for individuals concerned with the environmental, health, and ethical implications of eating meat.
