Today’s Solutions: December 18, 2025

Back in September, we wrote about an initiative from ride-sharing company Lyft that will allow voters to get free or discounted rides to their local polling stations. All you need to do is use the code 2020VOTE while requesting a ride.

In a similar fashion, micromobility companies such as Bird and Gotcha have teamed up with the nonprofit North American Bikeshare Association (NABA) to launch a national campaign called ‘Roll to the Polls,” which will give people the opportunity to get some exercise on their way to the polls with a free bicycle ride. In addition to the bikes, participating companies including Lyft are offering e-scooters and ride-sharing as free transportation options.

According to the Pew Research Center, 3 percent of registered voters cited ‘transportation challenges” as a deterrent to voting in the 2016 elections. The ‘Roll to the Polls” campaign hopes to help those people get out and vote in these crucial elections.

Want a free or discounted ride to your local polling station? Have a look at the Roll to the Polls website to find the complete list of micromobility providers offering free trips.
