In the U.S., the movement has grown by 62 percent in the last decade. Homeschooled students now represent about 3.4 percent of the school-age population, a percentage that has kept increasing. Parents say that homeschooling meets the needs of their children better and allows them to be more flexible with time. Homeschooling seems to become a more acceptable alternative for public schooling.
