Poor sleep can lead to heightened stress, anxiety, and even depression. It’s estimated that about half US adults over 55 have some form of sleeping problem. Now new research shows that adults that practice mindfulness meditation can lead to better quality of sleep, and is even more effective than common sleep hygiene education (SHE). The study took 49 participants, analyzed their sleep quality and split them into two groups, one group practiced mindfulness meditation, the other practice conventional SHE. Both groups showed lower levels of anxiety and stress, but the mindfulness meditation group showed to have greater improvements in quality of sleep. Just another benefit meditating will add to your everyday quality of life
