Although tens of billions of dollars of international aid has been sent to Africa over the past six decades, 41 percent of the people in the region still live on less than $1.25 a day. Yes, the extreme poverty rate has dropped, but the amount of money being sent hasn’t translated to adequate improvement. So how can aid money best be used to improve living conditions in Africa? By helping provide jobs for people to help them sustain themselves both economically and psychologically. See here why this nonprofit argues that we should give work rather than money.
