A woman in the Palestinian village of Billan is taking spent tear gas canisters and using them as flower pots, then placing them in locations around the war–torn west bank. Because of the heavy fighting that constantly occurs between the Israelis and Palestinians there is no shortage of supplies for the miniature flowerpots. The image of the tear gas flower containers paints a powerful message– that even in the face of seemingly endless violence, there is always opportunity for change and growth.
