German designer Phillipp Hutfless has come up with a 42 square–foot greenhouse barge that could serve as make–shift answer to food shortages experienced by overpopulated coastal cities around the world. In countries like Japan and Singapore where there is a shortage of arable land for food production the barge could bring easier access to fresh fruits and vegetables at a cost effective price.
