A recent study found that parents who were characterized as lenient and let their children make their own decisions had kids 13 percent less likely to have cavities than parents who were harsh and authoritative. So if you’re not laid back with your kids—the study looked at children age 3 to 6—try to be, it’s better for their oral health.
