Today’s Solutions: May 03, 2026

Why should any fashion go to waste when it can be collected, re-used or turned into something new? The people behind the clothing brand H&M have been thinking about this question and they came up with a solution. They started a garment collection program earlier this year, and now turned these collected clothes into new yarns for new clothes. It’s the idea behind the circular economy: don’t use new resources when you can re-use your own material over and over. H&M will release their new denim collection in September. It consists of 16 pieces of denim that incorporate recycled cotton. Currently, H&M blends in about 20 percent recycled fibers into its clothes. The goal is to eventually get as close to 100 percent as possible.
