Today’s Solutions: April 25, 2024

The will of the people isn’t the only thing needed to solve the issues of the world. Solutions require backing from the government to be effective and Californians are finding that support from the capital in Sacramento. In the past ten days, Governor of California Jerry Brown enacted several bills targeting issues like racial profiling in law enforcement and closing the wage gap between men and women. More recently he approved a bill to battle climate change that requires California to generate half its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and calls for gasoline use to be cut in half. On Saturday, a massive bill was passed to solve an “urgent public health problem”, imposing stern restrictions on the use of antibiotics in livestock to combat the rise of antibiotic-resistant infections in the U.S. On top of it all, Brown passed a bill that will automatically register millions of voters in the state, making sure Californians continue to lead the way in solving America’s most pressing issues.
