On the outside, they look like the beautiful petrol-guzzling cars that use to rule the roadways decades ago, but on the inside, they have electric engines that require no fossil fuels. Thanks to breakthroughs in battery technology, the husks of worn-out classic models can be recycled into clean classics that are both aesthetically pleasing as well as environmentally friendly. So far, more than 30,000 old models have been converted into electric vehicles, including classics like the Volkswagen bus from the 1960s.
