Turning food scraps into compost is a great idea, but what if you could turn them into clean cooking gas that you can use in your kitchen? An Israeli company has come up with a home biodigester system that converts kitchen scraps into fuel and fertilizer. All you have to do is simply throw your leftover food scraps into the 1200-liter tank, which captures the biogas that arises when the organic matter is broken down by bacteria. Then it feeds the biogas directly to the stove in your kitchen. When fed regularly, the completely off-grid appliance can produce up to 3 hours worth of cooking gas daily.
