Whether the chemical commonly found in Monsanto’s weed-killing products causes cancer is still being debated, but that doesn’t mean Germany is going to take any chances. The country’s agriculture minister has announced that she was finalizing a draft regulation to end use of the weed-killer glyphosate in household gardens, parks and sport facilities, and to set “massive” limits for its use in agriculture. Ultimately, the goal is to end the use of the chemical completely by 2021.
