In the past year, a number of aircraft manufacturers produced their own two-to-four seat airplanes that run on electricity. It shows we’re getting closer to the electrification of the aviation industry, but there’s still a long way to go until commercial flights fly without the need for jet fuel. The good news is that there are cleaner alternatives to jet fuel that we can use in the meantime that can cut the emissions that come with flying. Just this week, a Boeing Dreamliner flew from Los Angeles to Melbourne using a biofuel partially made from mustard seeds.
