If you love booze and bacon, we have some bad news for you. A new study from the World Cancer Research Fund has found that eliminating processed meats and alcohol from your diet can reduce your risk of developing cancer. The study recommends that significantly or totally cutting back on processed meats including bacon and hot dogs as these products have been associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Alcohol too has been linked to a myriad of different health issues. Still, that doesn’t mean all drinking is bad. Some research also suggests moderate drinking—typically defined as no more than a drink or two per day—may lengthen your lifespan and improve heart health.
