China is setting the example for how to properly stimulate car manufacturers to veer towards the production of more sustainable, clean energy vehicles. Starting 2019, the country will punish car firms unless they meet quotas for zero- and low-emission vehicles. Should they not fulfill their quota, they will have to buy credits from other companies that exceed their quotas.
