The Archangel Ancient Tree Archive, a US nonprofit, is on a quest of propagating the world’s most important old growth trees before they are gone, to help fight climate change. Arborists from the nonprofit are archiving the genetics of ancient trees in living libraries by cloning the saplings from the stumps of the world’s largest, strongest, and longest-lived trees. This is good news for mother nature as these sublime giants are champions when it comes to eco-technology, they filter air, soil, and water and are capable of removing record amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
