Following the legalization of cannabis, activists in Oregon are working toward the chance to vote on the decriminalization of magic mushrooms. Already legal in several cities in the United States, an initiative in Oregon is working to decriminalize psilocybin across the state. 

Psychedelics may have the power to effectively treat addiction, OCD, anxiety, and depression. The possibility of using mushrooms medically opens up many doors for research and regulation. There are companies such as Field Trip Ventures beginning to research psychedelics and the potential for such clinical facilities.  While there’s a way to go, it will be interesting to see how quickly the psychedelic renaissance advances in this Pacific state
